This is a blackberry freezer jam WITHOUT pectin. You can use fresh or FROZEN blackberries to prepare this recipe.

Blackberry Freezer Jam

When I was growing up, my mother made just about everything from scratch.... EXCEPT for Jam. The first time I tried freezer jam, I was in shock. I never thought jam could be so good!

Nowadays, I'm pretty much a Jam SNOB. If it's cooked, over-processed, over-sugared, and not mostly fruit... I don't care for it!

Freezer jam is exceptional because it's FRESH! Freezer jam is not cooked, so it tastes the most like fresh berries! It's also WAY LESS SUGAR! Traditional jams are LOADED with sugar... In fact, they're MOSTLY sugar! However, freezer jam is mostly fruit, with a little bit of sweetener if needed!

How To Make Blackberry Jam

This blackberry freezer jam recipe is so ridiculously easy, and only has 4 ingredients! Simply combine fresh (or frozen) blackberries, lemon juice, a tiny bit of sugar, and thickener... Then blend well!

Blend till desired texture and taste test! Once you're happy with your freezer jam consistency, it's done! Either enjoy it now or freezer for later! It lasts for a year in the freezer if there's any left!

Simple Ingredients

4 cups fresh (or frozen) Blackberries!

¼ cup lemon juice (to preserve color)

⅓ cup Ultra Gel or EZ Gel - Thickener

*optional - ¼ cup sugar (or sugar substitute)

Tools

Blender or Food Processor - To blend blackberries & other ingredients till smooth.

Measuring Cups - Measure all ingredients.

Ultra Gel Thickener - or EZ Gel Thickener - Thickens freezer jam without cooking!

Freezer Jam Jars - Store well in the freezer without cracking or leaving harmful chemicals in food! I like to use these small jars because it's the perfect amount for one family breakfast topping.

*Optional - Freezer Jam Lids - Reusable freezer lids!

  2. Xylitol has 2.4 calories per gram.
  3. And Erythritolhas only 0.24 calories per gram.

Erythritol only has 6% of the calories that regular sugar has, and still gives 70% of the sweetness of sugar!

ULTRA GEL Freezer Jam Thickener

Ultra Gel thickener is a modified food starch made with potato starch or cornstarch. An enzyme is used to change or that starch in corn or potatoes so that you don’t have to cook it to thicken!
