The committee, according to Chairman Robert Dodge, realizes that the work of receiving, cataloguing, labeling and arranging display of the many items to be exhibited in the museum should be supervised by a person with experience and training in that field.

Setting up a system for a certain amount of bookkeeping and other clerical work will also be involved, Dodge pointed All of these considerations, he stated, led the committee to decide that the best solution would be to seek the temporary services of an accredited curator. It is believed that such a man can be secured through the state society without more expense than would be involved in trying to accomplish the task with untrained local aid. Dodge stated further that selection of a permanent curator will be made from the list of Jackson county applicants as soon as possible after the museum becomes a going concern. It is also planned that the permanent curator work for a time with the state society man to gain training. Wall Street New York, Apr.

Petitions have been circulated for the past several weeks and far more than the necessary 25 signers have been obtained.

Additional signatures will be sought, however, before the petitions are filed with the state soil conservation committee next Tuesday. The committee must schedule hearings in that area within 60 days after the petition is filed. Tentative boundaries that were set last night would create a soil conservation district covering more than 50,000 acres in the northwest portion of the county. The district, would be bounded on and east by the Rogue river and the north boundary would extend west into the upper reaches of the Evans valley to a point almost directly north of Gold Hill. George Loftin, a Sams Valley rancher who has initiated the in soil conservation movement that area, said he had encountered practically no opposition to the plan in any of the four communities.

County School Superintendent C. R. Bowman said approval of the merger is almost a foregone conclusion and that the election would be routine.
